September 30, 2010.

Through Pepco’s Residential Lighting and Appliance Program, District of Columbia consumers purchased over 110,000 ENERGY STAR® qualified Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs). In addition, over 700 rebates were paid for eligible ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances to District customers.
The energy savings from CFLs and appliances bought and/or rebated through this Program will substantially reduce the amount of energy needed to generate electricity – preventing over 42 million pounds of CO2 emissions. This is equivalent to removing 3,995 cars off the District’s roadways!
We extend our appreciation to all program participants and encourage everyone to continue to conserve energy.
