  • As a public utility, our net metering service to customers is a regulatory responsibility. We are required to follow the interconnection and net energy metering regulations in our service regions. The information below will help you understand and comply with these regulations. Pepco follows and complies with the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 20.50.09 for Small Generation Interconnection Standards and COMAR 20.50.10 for Net Metering Authority. To ensure your successful interconnection with the electric grid, customers should become familiar with our interconnection application and agreements, forms, tariffs and riders, along with the process steps before soliciting a contractor.

    PJM INTERCONNECTION

    Customers interested in installing large generating facilities and selling power directly to the grid will need wholesale power purchase agreements. PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Our Green Power Connection Team will gladly to refer you to the department within Pepco that handles wholesale power purchase agreements.
