1 p.m. OUTAGE UPDATE; Power Restoration Efforts Under Way; Record Outages Recorded on Pepco System

| For Immediate Release 1 p.m. OUTAGE UPDATE Power Restoration Efforts Under Way Overnight, Pepco was able to restore service to some customers, but some additional outages occurred as high winds continued. As of 1 p.m., the following outages are reported on the Pepco system: District of Columbia: 136,000 Crews began work at 2 a.m. and Pepco now has more than 700 crews in rotating 12-hour shifts. Pepco personnel are conducting a damage assessment to determine how long the restoration process will take.
