WHEN:	Today, July 5, 2006, 2:00 p.m.
WHY:	Multiple storms over the last several days have caused significant damage and tens of thousands of customers have lost power at various times across Pepco's service territory. Repeated storms have weakened trees, making trees and tree limbs more likely to fall into power lines. Pepco linemen and other personnel have been working 16 hour days to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Photo op of crews working and update on outages.
