Pepco Customers Can Pay Bills On Line With New Interactive Web Site

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 7, 1999

Pepco customers now have the option to pay their bills on line via the Company's new, interactive Web site. The redesigned site allows users to access a broad range of information, including investor information and rates.

"We developed this site to be customer-friendly," said Robert Grantley, Pepco Vice President of Customer Service and Power Distribution. "We wanted to make our new site as easy to use as flipping a switch to make the lights come on. Now customers have the ability to do such things as pay their monthly bills on-line and stop and start service with the click of a mouse."

In addition to on-line bill payment options, Pepco's new Internet site features:

  • Up-to-the minute Pepco stock prices
  • Personalized energy profiles for large commercial customers
  • Pepco's progress with the Y2K computer problem
  • Commercial and residential rates
  • News releases and archives
  • Links to Pepco subsidiary sites

Pepco is the investor-owned utility serving 1.9 million people in Washington, D.C., and the Maryland suburbs. The Pepco site was designed by IconixGroup, a Bethesda-based company specializing in integrated digital media.
