Washington, DC- The Pepco Edison Place Gallery is currently hosting the "Every Dog Has Its Day" Exhibition, a collection of commissioned pet portraits and other pet-themed images for sale created by artists with disabilities in St. John's Community Services' ART Options program.
The Every Dog Has Its Day Exhibition is funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities, an agency supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition, ART Options is proud to partner with the Washington Humane Society, Big Bad Woof, Rural Dog Rescue, Hail to the Chief, City Dogs Daycare and A Forever Home.
The mission of the ART Options program is to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to learn about, experience, and create art in order to develop successful careers and personal lives. By assisting artists to use art as a tool for personal growth and personal sustainability, the program encourages artists to fully participate in and become contributing members of their community. The use of the Pepco Edison Place Gallery is donated in-kind through Pepco Holdings, Inc.'s Office of Corporate Citizenship and Social Responsibility to Pepco's nonprofit partners in the community to include arts organizations to sponsor a series of diverse, high quality art exhibits on behalf of the community we serve. The Gallery, located at 701 9th Street N.W., is open Tuesday through Friday from Noon - 4p.m.
