Get Cash for Efficiency Upgrades
Washington, D.C. - A new program can help provide an interest-free cash advance for Pepco business customers in Maryland to make energy efficiency upgrades.
Pepco's Small Business Program currently provides cash incentives for eligible business customers in Maryland who upgrade to more energy efficient equipment. Now the Small Business Energy Advance can give eligible customers a cash advance to help with their share of energy efficiency project costs. Customers can repay the advance on their Pepco electric bill - interest free for up to 24 months - to make it easier to perform energy efficiency upgrades.
"We want to help our customers reduce the amount of energy they use daily," said Hallie Reese, vice president, customer care, Pepco Holdings Inc. "With the money our small business customers can save by upgrading the energy efficiency of their building and equipment, the improvements could pay for themselves."
For customers with a monthly demand of 100 kilowatts or less over a 12--month period, the Small Business Program offers solutions that reduce the barriers to investing in energy upgrades. These solutions include a walk-through energy assessment and up to $250 for the installation of low-cost measures at no charge; the work is done by an approved trade ally that the business customer selects.
Once completed, the customer is eligible for cash incentives of up to 80 percent for installed energy efficiency improvements such as lighting; kitchen equipment; variable frequency drives; water heating; commercial refrigeration; as well as heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
For applications, eligibility, a list of participating small business trade allies or more information about Energy Advance, customers may call 866-353-5798, visit www.pepco.com/business or email PepcoEnergyEfficiency@LMBPS.com. This program supports EmPOWER Maryland.
