PEPCO Announces Reorganization of Government Relations Department

PEPCO has promoted and hired several new employees in its Government Relations Department, announced Beverly Perry, manager of that department.

Ted Trabue was recently appointed to the position of Manager, Government Relations - District of Columbia. Trabue has held positions in the District`s public and private sectors, including positions in the Office of the Mayor, Councilmember Linda W. Cropp`s office and the law firm of Washington, Hamilton & Hamilton. Mr. Trabue comes to PEPCO from the Greater Washington Board of Trade where he was Director of Critical Issues.

Steven L. Arabia has been promoted to Manager of State Relations for Maryland. He will represent Pepco and its subsidiaries before the Maryland General Assembly and the Montgomery County Government. He has been with PEPCO eight years.

After eight years with PEPCO`s environmental group, Kathryn M. Elliot has joined Government Relations as a Senior Government Relations Representative. In her new role Elliot will represent the company`s position on federal regulatory and legislative issues. She has been with the company for 29 years.

Kim Watson has been named manager of the newly designed Corporate Relations Department within the Government Relations structure. Watson, a 14-year PEPCO employee, will manage grassroots outreach in the Washington metropolitan area. She was previously Manager of Customer and Community Relations.

Replacing Watson as Manager of Consumer and Community Relations is Gwen Hawkins, who joined PEPCO in 1977. Hawkins will be responsible for activities supporting community-based organizations; education initiatives; and low-income, volunteer, and customer assistance programs.
