Pepco Subsidiary Acquires Electrical Testing Company

Pepco Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pepco (NYSE:POM), Washington, D.C., has purchased the assets and operations of MET Electrical Testing, a Maryland-based company that performs on-site maintenance and testing of electrical distribution equipment and systems. The acquisition positions Pepco Services to provide a wider array of energy solutions to its commercial, institutional and industrial customers.

MET Electrical Testing specializes in maintaining electrical distribution systems in larger commercial and industrial buildings as well as in institutional and campus settings. The Company's primary service area is in the mid-Atlantic Region, where Pepco Services markets its services. MET also has offices in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Norfolk, Va.

"This acquisition is a good fit for Pepco Services from the standpoint of product line and geographic focus," said Ed Mayberry, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pepco Services. "It allows us to add another service to help our customers meet all of their energy needs."

With the acquisition of MET Electrical Testing, Pepco Services will add electrical testing to its bundle of products, including electricity, natural gas and energy efficiency solutions.

Pepco Services, Inc., is an energy services subsidiary of Pepco, the investor-owned electric utility serving Washington, D.C., and the Maryland suburbs.
