Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Potomac Electric Power Company (NYSE: POM), today announced the signing of its 5,000^th customer under its new PowerChoice Home label. To mark the occasion, Pepco Energy Services is donating $5,000 worth of bicycles to radio station WWZZ-FM and the Salvation Army for their "Bikes for Tykes" Campaign.

Joe Marsilii, president of the home and business energy services division of Pepco Energy Services, said the donation is "our way of giving back to the community in appreciation of the public`s response to our new home energy and appliance repair programs."

Pepco Energy Services sells competitively priced natural gas, electricity and a comprehensive package of appliance repair services under its new PowerChoice label. Pepco Energy Services was formed in 1995 as an unregulated Pepco subsidiary to develop and sell products and services throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
