Makini Street Hired as New Media Relations Manager

Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco) has chosen Makini O. Street to replace Nancy S. Moses as Manager of its Media Relations Department. Ms. Moses has retired after more than twenty years as Pepco's chief spokesperson.
Ms. Moses' distinguished PR career included positions at the Montgomery County Police Department, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington and the Illinois Department of Mental Health, Chicago Region, where she headed each organization's public relations office.
Makini Street returns to Pepco after having worked under Ms. Moses as a Senior Communications Representative for several years. Most recently Ms. Street was with Constellation Energy Group where, as Media Relations Group Coordinator, she spearheaded media and public relations for subsidiaries Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE), BGE Home and Constellation Energy Source. Her public relations career includes positions at the Mid-Atlantic Corporate Office of Fresh Fields/Whole Foods Market, local PR firm Robinson Associates, the D.C. Committee to Promote Washington and USDA.
A native Washingtonian, Ms. Street earned her Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park, and is currently enrolled in a graduate business program at Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of the Maryland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and sits on the Advisory Board of the International Youth Development Organization.
