A Power Restoration Update from Pepco

For our Pepco customers in the College Park / Beltsville, Maryland service area:

A tornado touched down last night in your area causing extensive damage to Pepco`s distribution system resulting in the loss of electric service. Three of our distribution substations were severely affected and there are numerous poles and wires down requiring extensive repair work to rebuild.

Pepco has more than 100 crews and contractors on the job. Additional crews are being added from other utilities from Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey and West Virginia who will be working around-the-clock to restore your power.

When can you expect restoration of service:

We expect to get the bulk of our customers affected in this area, who have not sustained individual service connection damage, restored by midnight Wednesday, 26th.

Customers with damaged individual service connections, such as meters that have been ripped from their anchoring and downed service wires, can expect to be out until midnight Friday, September 28th due to more detailed repair requirements.

Also, some customers that have sustained damage to their home will require the attention of an electrician before Pepco can restore power. Once repairs have been made by the electrician, please call Pepco at 1-877-Pepco-62 to arrange for the service connection.

Thank You for Your Patience !!!!
