Customer Bill Payment Office Relocates to Washington`s East End
For Immediate ReleaseOctober 9, 2001
Pepco customers who pay their bills in person should be aware that Pepco has moved from its longtime Pennsylvania Avenue location. Pepco`s customer service and bill payment center is now located in the company`s new headquarters building, Edison Place, at 701 Ninth Street, N.W.
The new Customer Service Center is located in the lobby level of the 10-story, 384,000 square-foot building. Customers can pay their Pepco bills at this location from the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Customers can also pay their bills at Pepco`s Forestville Location at 8300 Old Marlboro Pike, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Edison Place is on Ninth Street between G and H streets, directly across from the Martin Luther King library. It is served by Metrorail`s Gallery Place stop on the red, green and yellow lines via the Ninth Street exit.
The majority of Pepco`s phone numbers remain unchanged. The toll-free number to call to report outages 24-hours a day is 1-877-Pepco-62 (1-877-737-2662). The customer service number is (202) 833-7500, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The 24-hour number to report life threatening-emergencies, such as downed or exposed wires is (202) 872-3432.
Pepco`s move to the East End is part of a revival of Washington`s historic downtown area, a trend that accelerated when the MCI Center opened in 1997. Edison Place is one block from the MCI Center. Pepco`s headquarters from 1931 to 1972 was located at 10th and E Streets, N.W., three blocks from Edison Place. That building, a designated historical building, today houses Washington`s Hard Rock Café.
