Recent mail delivery disruptions in the area have heightened interest in Pepco`s alternatives for making bill payments.
Pepco offers several convenient bill payment options, including its Pre-Authorized Transfer and Online Bill Payment programs.
The Pre-Authorized Transfer program is an automatic bill payment service that deducts monthly bill payments from an enrolled customer`s bank or credit union account. All Pepco customers with accounts in good standing are eligible for the program. If necessary, a transfer can be suspended by contacting Pepco at least five business days before the due date, and then payment can be made by cash or check. An enrollment form can be obtained at Pepco`s Web site, www.pepco.com or by calling (202) 833-7500.
A separate Online Bill Payment service offers even more flexibility, allowing customers to both view and pay their electric bills online. This option gives the customer complete control over when to make a payment. Once made, a payment cannot be cancelled. New users can register for the service by visiting Pepco`s home page and clicking on "Pay Your Bill."
Pepco uses industry-standard software to ensure that electronic payments are secure.
As always, customers may make in-person payments at several Pepco locations:
In addition, Pepco customers can pay their electric bills at any branch of SunTrust and Allfirst banks.
For more information about Pepco`s bill payment options, call (202) 833-7500, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., or visit Pepco`s Web site www.pepco.com.
