With this afternoon`s severe weather forecast, Pepco has implemented its storm contingency plan to provide the maximum number of Pepco and contract repair crews for storm restoration work tonight.

The crews have been working 16-hour shifts since Saturday`s storms and will continue on that schedule if today`s weather brings more outages. Additional Pepco employees are alerted for storm duty, including customer service operators and wire-down safety teams.

Pepco reminds customers to report outages by calling calling 1-877-Pepco-62. Downed wires and other LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCIES ONLY can be reported by calling (202) 872-3432. Downed wires should be assumed to be energized and are dangerous.
