Pepco today joined with other large and small businesses in supporting the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce`s 2004 Public Safety Awards at Indian Spring Country Club in Silver Spring . This is the 30 th anniversary of the Montgomery Chamber`s tribute to personnel of the county`s Police, Fire & Rescue, Sheriff`s, Park Police and Correction & Rehabilitation Departments.

"Pepco is pleased to have the opportunity to recognize the fantastic support members of all of these services render to the citizens of Montgomery County ," said Bill Sim, president of Pepco. "We work closely with all the county`s public safety agencies whenever Mother Nature sends us a tough challenge, and they have never let us down.

"The destruction wrought by Hurricane Isabel is a good example of the challenges faced by Pepco crews and Montgomery County public safety workers in our joint efforts to keep our citizens safe and secure," Sim concluded.

Pepco was a top sponsor of the event, joining fellow "platinum" donors Bank of America, Comcast, Lockheed Martin and Marriott International in supporting the 2004 awards.
