Pepco urges all District of Columbia residents who need assistance with paying their gas, electric, water or heating fuel bills to attend DC's Utility Discount Day at the new Convention Center.

Pepco joins other DC utilities in sponsoring and participating in Utility Discount Day. District residents can apply for discounts on their electric, gas, water and phone bills by completing only one application. In addition, some residents may be eligible for DC's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). To find out more about LIHEAP, call the DC Energy Hotline: (202) 673-6750.
District residents interested in obtaining assistance do not need a turn-off notice to apply for benefits. However, applicants must meet the income limits in the chart below.

Eligible applicants must bring with them: proof of total household income; personal identification (proof of age); their Social Security card; a current lease or recent rent receipt (if your heat is included in your rent); recent utility bills for electricity, gas, telephone and water.
Pepco encourages all its customers to conserve electricity whenever possible. Pepco representatives will be available at the Convention Center to provide attendees with brochures and other material that is packed with helpful energy-saving tips. Pepco customers are also invited to log on to the company's Web site, www.pepco.com. The site contains a wealth of information about electricity safety and conservation, and copies of Pepco brochures can be downloaded straight from the site.
Utility Discount Day is run by the District of Columbia Energy Office and co-sponsored by the D.C. Office of People's Counsel and the D.C. Public Service Commission.
