Pepco Names George Lyons, Jr. DC Region Vice President

Pepco today announced the appointment of George Lyons, Jr. to be Region Vice President--- District of Columbia , with responsibility for government affairs and public policy issues as they relate to the District.

Lyons brings to Pepco more than 20 years' experience managing government relations, regulatory policy, law, communications and external relations at federal and state levels for utility, pharmaceutical, trade, government and private industry entities. He will report to Pepco Region President Thomas Graham.

"His combination of utility industry experience, extensive government and industry contacts, and familiarity with energy issues makes George a valuable addition to the Pepco team," Graham said. "We are fortunate to have him."

Previously, Lyons served as vice president, government and public affairs at Chicago-based Exelon Corp., and earlier as vice president of regulatory, communications and external affairs for PECO Energy, a Philadelphia based Exelon subsidiary. Lyons also worked in government relations at Pfizer, Inc. and the American Gas Association.

Lyons earned a Juris Doctorate of Law, Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . His many affiliations include the District of Columbia Bar, Federal Energy Bar, National Health Lawyers Association and National Bar Association. He has served on the boards of the World Affairs Council, Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition, Philadelphia Urban League, WYBE Public Television, Arts and Business Council.
