WASHINGTON - Pepco today announced the appointment of Vincent Bernard Orange, Sr. to be Region Vice President - District of Columbia. He will be responsible for government affairs and public policy issues as they relate to the District.
Orange , a D.C. mayoral candidate in the 2006 election, served as D.C. councilmember of Ward Five from 1999 through the end of his term in 2006. He is an attorney and certified public accountant.
In his new post at Pepco, Orange will report to Pepco Region President Thomas Graham.
"Vincent's wealth of knowledge of the District and his existing strong relationships with community, government and business leaders will make him a tremendous asset in the communities Pepco serves," Graham said.
Orange will join Pepco on Feb. 12.
"I am excited about my new position at Pepco where I can continue to serve the District and our many residents," Orange said. "Electricity plays a large role in all of our lives and I look forward to addressing the many energy-related issues as they relate to the District of Columbia."
Orange 's previous work experience includes posts with the U.S. Department of Army, Contracts Appeal Division; U.S. Army Legal Assistance Division at the Pentagon; Arthur Anderson & Company Public Accounting Firm; University of the District of Columbia; District of Columbia Office of the Corporation Counsel; and as the chief financial officer of the National Children's Center.
Orange earned a Juris Doctorate from Howard University, a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of the Pacific. His many affiliations include the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, District of Columbia Bar, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Michigan Park Citizens Association, Howard University Law Alumni Association and the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church.
