Pepco Gallery to Host Options 2007

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Project for the Arts\Corcoran (WPA\C) unveils their biennial exhibition, Options 2007, at an evening reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Pepco's Edison Place Gallery.

This marks the 12th year of this anticipated exhibit that reflects the imaginative variety of talent in the Washington region. The curator for this year's display is Paul Brewer, Director of New York's Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA). With Paul's creative eye, Pepco's Edison Place Gallery will be transformed into a dynamic contemporary art site from Sept. 13 to Oct. 26, 2007.

Paul has chosen 10 emerging artists who represent the creative diversity of the region including Taylor Baldwin, Anne Chan, Neil Feather, Eli Kessler, Cory Oberndorfer, Pat O'Malley, Siobahn Rigg, Kathleen Shafer, Sayaka Suzuki and Rene Trevino. With this showcase, the WPA\C continues to support and promote new artistic talent while building and maintaining relationships between new and more experienced artists in the region.

Pepco's Edison Place Gallery is in the 700 block of 8th Street, NW between G and H streets, one block west of the Verizon Center. The gallery is open to the public from noon - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and will be open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, as part of the Arts on Foot Festival in the Penn Quarter Neighborhood.
