Features Tennis Match with Mayors Williams and Barry

The Pepco Golf and Tennis Classic will be held Sept.17, with proceeds from the sale of sponsorships going to help disadvantaged residents in the District, Montgomery and Prince George's counties pay heating bills this winter.

Highlights of this year's event include a tennis showdown at high noon between former District Mayors Anthony Williams and Marion Barry vs. Councilmember Mary Cheh and prominent lawyer, Claude Bailey.

Tournament proceeds totaling $180,000 will be distributed through the PHI Community Foundation to families served by The Greater Washington Urban League, Catholic Charities of Montgomery County and United Communities Against Poverty, Inc., Prince George's County.

The Pepco Golf Classic is a Cadillac Invitational event presented by Doggett's Parking Co. and will take place at The Country Club at Woodmore, 12320 Pleasant Prospect in Mitchellville, MD. Shotgun start is at 10:30 a.m.
