Pepco's Edison Place Gallery Hosts Tap DC

"Turn a Glass of Water into Something Beautiful"

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Pepco's Edison Place Gallery will host Tap DC's exhibition, "Something Beautiful" from Sunday, March 22 through Sunday, March 29. "Something Beautiful" is an art exhibition encompassing pictures of empty drinking glasses turned into works of art.

"Turn a glass of water into something beautiful" is the theme of World Water Week, a week long campaign to collect donations and bring awareness to the second-largest killer of children under the age of five worldwide - the lack of clean drinking water. During World Water Week, when a customer at a participating restaurant donates $1 or more for a glass of usually free tap water, a child across the world receives clean drinking water for 40 days.

"Pepco is very pleased to offer our gallery to house an exhibition with such a noble cause," says Debbi Jarvis, Vice President, Corporate Communications. All contributions support UNICEF's efforts to provide clean drinking water to children around the world.

An opening reception on Tuesday, March 24 will include live music, video projection performances, and beverage samples from a "Tap Mixologist." For information about participating restaurants, donations, and samples of the artwork, log on to www.TapDC.org.

Pepco's Edison Place Gallery is in the 700 block of Eighth Street, N.W., between G and H streets, one block west of the Verizon Center. The gallery will be open to the public for this exhibition from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22 through Sunday, March 29.
