Proceeds to Help Residents in Need Pay Winter Energy Bills
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The PHI Community Foundation will hold its 4th Annual Golf Classic on Sept. 14 at the Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellville, Md. Proceeds from the sale of sponsorships will go directly to help struggling residents in the District of Columbia and Prince George's and Montgomery counties pay their winter energy bills.
"The response from our sponsors has been overwhelming," said Thomas H. Graham, PHI Community Foundation President and President-Pepco Region. "I am happy to report this year's event has been sold out for several weeks. Corporate sponsors such as Energy Enterprise Solutions and Doggett's Parking Co. continue to lead the way through their generous financial support. We look forward to a great day of golf, and plan to contribute $200,000 to help our fellow residents."
Proceeds from the tournament will be distributed through the PHI Community Foundation to residents served by the Greater Washington Urban League, the United Communities Against Poverty in Prince George's County and Interfaith Works in Montgomery County.
Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $700,000 for area charities.
