Gallery Showcases "The Power of Artful Light"
WASHINGTON - Pepco's Edison Place Gallery will host the Senior Artists Alliance's exhibit, "The Power of Artful Light," from Tuesday, March 2 through Friday, April 2. An artist reception will be held on Saturday, March 20 from 2-4 p.m.
"The Power of Artful Light" showcases the diversity of the Senior Artists Alliance's 130 members, including more than 100 works of art. The members work in various media including painting, drawing, sculpture and photography. The Senior Artists Alliance is a non profit organization dedicated to promoting visual artists, 60 years of age or older, who live in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. Founded in 2001, it allows senior artists to share their passion for creating beautiful art as well as providing a forum for working artists to exchange experiences and information with like-minded peers. More so, it gives senior artists an opportunity to exhibit their work professionally while providing technical and educational meetings for them. Pepco's Edison Place Gallery is in the 700 block of Eighth Street NW, between G and H streets, one block west of the Verizon Center. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 12-4 p.m. It will also be open on Saturday, March 20 from 2-4 p.m. Admission is free.
