Pepco Named a "Tree Line USA Utility"

WASHINGTON - Pepco has been named by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Line USA Utility.

The Tree Line USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters. It recognizes utilities that meet the following three requirements:

o Operates a program of quality tree care,

o Trains workers annually in quality tree care practices;

o Implements a tree planting and public education program.

" Pepco trains our workers in quality tree-care practices to ensure that we protect our environment. We also educate our customers to help them plant appropriate trees near utility lines," said Thomas Graham, President, Pepco Region. "Our goal is to ensure nature's beauty while delivering reliable service."

The Arbor Day foundation, a non profit education organization, is dedicated to tree planting and environmental stewardship. Tree Line USA utilities include both investor-owned and public providers who have demonstrated commitment to public education, tree planting and quality care.
