Pepco Hosts Inaugural Supplier Diversity Forum

WASHINGTON , D.C. - Pepco will host its inaugural supplier diversity forum on Tuesday, June 14 from 1 - 6:00 p.m. The forum will be held in the second floor conference center of Pepco Holdings, Inc.'s Edison Place headquarters located at 701 Ninth Street, NW in Washington, D.C.

Pepco is committed to including local and diverse suppliers within the company's service territory, which impacts the District of Columbia and portions of Montgomery and Prince George's counties. The forum is designed to educate qualified diverse suppliers within the Washington Metropolitan area on potential Pepco business opportunities. Pepco defines diverse suppliers as certified businesses that are minority-owned and protected-class within the Washington Metropolitan area

Representatives from various departments will give brief comments during the forum. Those departments include Supply Chain, Customer Care, Asset Management, Information Technology, and Operations. A representative from Pepco Energy Services will also give a presentation. At the end of the program, the department representatives will be available for a one hour networking session with suppliers.

"This forum not only gives minority-owned and protected-class suppliers in our service territory an opportunity to hear from us, but it also gives us the chance to hear from them," said Pepco Region President Thomas H. Graham. "We are pleased with the number of suppliers who have indicated their participation. We are expecting nearly 100 professionals, and we hope that at the end of the day, everyone leaves the forum with a new perspective on the supplier diversity process as it relates to our business ventures at Pepco."
