Pepco Edison Place Art Gallery to feature, "The Art of Zhen Shan Ren International Exhibition"

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Opening, today, May 8th at the Pepco Edison Place Art Gallery in Washington DC is the exhibit "The Art of Zhen Shan Ren International Exhibition." This exhibition consists of over 60 works including those by six award-winning artists: Professor Kunlun Zhang, Xiaoping Chen, Xiqiang Dong, Kathleen Grills, Yuan Li, and Weixing Wang.

The artists featured in the exhibition practice Falun Gong, a mind and body practice that improves health and spiritual growth.  Unfortunately Falun Gong is now persecuted in China.  Several artists featured in this exhibition have personally experienced suppression and imprisonment.  They have come to realize that a most beautiful form of artistic expression is through the orthodox arts.  Their art works convey their personal understanding of the universe and life.

This exhibition has toured more than 200 cities in 40 countries worldwide since its debut in 2004 at the Rayburn House Office Building of the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.  The Art of Zhen Shan Ren International Exhibition is open to the public noon to 4 p.m, Tuesday to Saturday, until June 1.

Pepco's Edison Place Art Gallery is located at 702 Eighth Street, NW between G and H streets, one block west of the Verizon Center. The mission of Pepco's Edison Place Art Gallery is to work with nonprofit arts organizations to sponsor a series of diverse, high quality art exhibits on behalf of the community. The Gallery is open 12 - 4 p.m, Tuesday through Friday with free admission.
