WASHINGTON, D.C. - Pepco Region President Thomas H. Graham was named chairman of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber's Annual Membership Meeting and Business Hall of Fame Dinner on Wednesday. Graham has served on the Chamber's board since 2005, including serving as vice chairman for the last two years and previously as secretary/treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee.

"It is an outstanding honor and great opportunity to chair the Chamber of Commerce, the leading voice of Maryland business," Graham said. "As chairman, I want to build on our strength as the voice of a united business community and work together to develop one business agenda in the State that creates more jobs for all Marylanders, not just for those in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, or for those who are large employers ."

Graham's goal is to strengthen the networking aspects of all Maryland Chamber events to facilitate more meaningful business connections and provide greater membership value. He will serve as a conduit to legislators to help them better understand the challenges of business and the opportunities they create through revenue growth and job creation.

As president of the Pepco Region, Graham is responsible for interfacing with legislative, regulatory, government, business and community stakeholders to ensure that Pepco is providing safe and reliable service in the communities it serves. During his 27-year career with Pepco, he has held several leadership positions with responsibilities in engineering design, customer relationship management, billing resolution, revenue protection, energy-use management programs, and more.

Graham serves on numerous boards, including the PHI Community Foundation, Center for Energy Workforce Development, Strathmore Foundation, Greater Prince George's County Business Roundtable and Prince George's County Economic Development Corp.
