30 Prince George's County Students Honored for Completing Training Course
Washington, D.C -Through a strategic partnership, Pepco, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and Prince George's Community College hosted a one-week Workforce Readiness Training Program from June 17 to June 21 . Graduates of the program will have completed 30 hours of Workforce Readiness Training facilitated by Pepco Human Resource and Recruiting subject matter experts who specialize in screening and hiring candidates. Specifically created for Prince George's County High School students, the program afforded 30 young people with valuable, hands-on experience to prepare for job opportunities.
Friday's job fair and graduation ceremony at the Prince George's Community College Technological Center marked the program's second year. CVS and Retail Business Development have confirmed as participants in the 2013 Workforce Readiness Job Fair.
"This program prepares students for the next step in their lives. The ability to obtain employment is critical, whether students plan to work part time or pursue full-time careers," said Thomas H. Graham president, Pepco Region.
