Pepco Delivers on its Promises: Maryland Residential Customers Will Receive Second $50 Rate Credit

WASHINGTON D.C. (March 29, 2017) On Monday, March 27, Pepco Maryland residential customers began to receive their second $50 rate credit as a result of the merger between Exelon and Pepco Holdings. After receiving the first rate credit in April 2016, to date, Maryland customers have received more than $52 million in credits.

This final round of credits will be automatically applied to each residential customer's bill as part of a broader package of benefits that will make energy more affordable for Pepco Maryland customers as a direct result of the merger. The credits are applied to the bill balance and will be reflected on qualifying customer accounts.

"We constantly look for ways to best serve our customers and we are proud to be able deliver on our promises," said Donna Cooper, Pepco Region President. "We are committed to providing the best service for our customers. This credit, combined with the number of energy efficiency opportunities available to Maryland customers, can provide added savings for our customers."

As a result of the Exelon merger,  Exelon's three electric and gas utilities - BGE, ComEd and PECO - and Pepco Holdings' three electric and gas utilities - Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco - share best practices, identify energy efficiencies and form the nation's largest electric and gas utility company.
