WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 16, 2021) – Today, as part of the Pepco's 125th year anniversary celebration, the company announced a special donation of $125,000 to 25 community-based organizations to help uplift these organizations and their leaders who are doing critical work in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Each of the 25 grantees will receive $5,000. With a special emphasis on the last 25 years, five organizations were also selected to receive bonus grants of $5,000 each for a total of $150,000 in donations.
"Since our founding in 1896, service has been at the core of everything we do and it is central to the 25 organizations we are honoring as part of our company's 125th Anniversary," said Tyler Anthony, President and CEO of Pepco Holdings. "As committed corporate citizens, our dedication to our customers and the communities we serve extends beyond advancing new and innovative energy solutions. We are proud to support the critical, mission-driven work of these 25 community-based organizations and look forward to serving the District of Columbia and Maryland for the next 125 years and beyond."
Pepco's employee-driven Giving Circle process selected the 25 community-based organizations based on five (5) pillars: 1) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; 2) Support of Immigrant Communities; 3) Economic and Food Equity; 4) Workforce Development and Re-Entry for Returning Citizens, and 5) Community Safety. All organization selected have an annual budget of $500,000 or less. Below is a full list of the organizations that will receive grants:

Of the 25 organizations, seven serve the District of Columbia, six serve Prince George's County, three serve Montgomery County, and nine serve the entirety of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. This collective funding award is separate from Pepco's significant annual financial support for hundreds of nonprofits and community partners across our service area.
