Mellanie Kai Lassiter to Lead Next Phase of Pepco Holdings Corporate Relations Efforts

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 26, 2018) – Pepco Holdings has named Mellanie Kai Lassiter as its new senior manager of Corporate Relations. Lassiter, a 13-year veteran of both Baltimore Gas and Electric (BG&E) and PECO in Philadelphia, will build on Pepco Holdings' ongoing philanthropic efforts and will oversee the implementation of the corporate citizenship programs that will further define Pepco, Delmarva Power and Atlantic City Electric as key community and philanthropic partners.

In addition to leading the sponsorship, corporate and employee giving, and volunteerism programs for the company, Lassiter will work closely with Pepco Holdings Senior Vice President for Government and External Affairs, Melissa Lavinson, Pepco Region President Donna Cooper, Atlantic City Electric and Delmarva Power Region President Gary Stockbridge and Pepco Holdings Communications Vice President Marshall Murphy to assess areas where Pepco Holdings' giving can have even greater impact. Lassiter will be responsible for ensuring that Pepco Holdings' partnerships and initiatives are bringing the most value to the customers and communities we serve across the Mid-Atlantic region.

"Mellanie brings an impressive combination of strategic focus, community leadership, and industry knowledge to this new position," said Melissa Lavinson, senior vice president of Government and External Affairs for Pepco Holdings. "We have a strong history of giving at Pepco Holdings and we're looking to Mellanie to drive more strategic value from this program for both our giving partners and the company. Her leadership is key to our efforts to provide a superior experience in the communities we are proud to serve."

Lassiter joined the Exelon family of companies in 2005 as the senior specialist for Community Relations at PECO in Philadelphia, Pa. She was named senior specialist of Corporate Contributions in 2008, where she was responsible for building and expanding community relationships and outreach and serving as primary contact for nonprofit organizations seeking financial support and partnership opportunities. Lassiter served in this role until 2012, when she was promoted to PECO External Affairs manager for Philadelphia County, Pa.  From 2012 until 2017, she coordinated engagement with elected and appointed officials and other key stakeholders in the city of Philadelphia, including overseeing the company's engagement during the 2016 Democratic National Convention and the 2015 World Meeting of Families and the historic Papal visit.

In 2017, Lassiter was named External Affairs manager for BGE in Baltimore, Md. where her primary responsibilities included acting as chief liaison with the Baltimore City Council and the Baltimore City's Mayor's Office for legislative and operational needs impacting the BGE service area.
