Pepco, in partnership with the Exelon Foundation, offer a STEM program that inspires teachers and students to explore energy together. The program is expected to reach more than 39,000 students and 300 teachers at 150 schools in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County and Prince George's County in Maryland. Schools receive year-round tools and resources through ESP, including professional-development opportunities for teachers, hands-on classroom curriculum, energy audits of schools, turnkey materials to hold energy fairs at schools, field trips, and a small cash grant for additional supplies.
Pepco is a proud sponsor of KID Museum in Bethesda, Md., which offers a unique, hands-on STEM learning experience to children and their families in the region. With a focus on diversity and inclusion, KID Museum has created a state-of-the-art education center and cultural gathering place for the entire community.

Pepco's grant supports a pilot resiliency project with Jubilee Housing, a community based nonprofit housing developer, to fund an emergency battery storage system at their Maycroft affordable housing property in Ward One's Columbia Heights neighborhood. The innovative system provides three days of power to Maycroft residents in the event of an extended power interruption from severe weather or other emergencies. The grant is part of Pepco's broad-based effort to transform the future energy experience, while ensuring access to vital, sustainable energy resources for customers in all Wards.
