Public transportation electric vehicle (EV) chargers are crucial in making the switch to electric rides-for-hire a reality. With greater access to public transportation charging stations, emissions from the most heavily used vehicles in Washington, D.C., can be substantially reduced. This program helps commercial property managers or owners by providing financial incentives to install public transportation access to EV charging stations.
Pepco offers two public transportation charger programs:
Pepco will coordinate with real estate property owners and EV charger manufacturers to install the electric supply infrastructure to the charging station. As the station owner, you are to install the charging stations and ensure public transportation accessibility. Pepco will provide a financial incentive for the electric supply infrastructure cost or directly pay an electrician if the work has not been completed.
